“Windmade” is the first consumer label that identifies organizations and products that use wind power in their operations or production. The label is applied to products whos producers have chosen to commit to wind energy as one of their primary sources of energy for their company. The certification can be found on various products bought in stores from cleaning products to electronics. It can also be used on a companies website or promotional information for a company that may not sell a product on shelves, but still uses wind power. The label, like “Organic” or “Fair Trade” in intended to encourage consumers to think about how their goods are produced as well as give companies incentive to look in to wind energy.
