Cape Farewell was created in 2001 by David Buckland to raise aware about the issue of climate change in our world. David and other artists traveled to various parts of the world affected by climate change, and created art based on their experiences. They hope incite dialogue and concern about the state of our environment.
The Cape Farewell Project is really hands on. The project takes artists, scientists, educators and communicators to places affected by climate change so that they can experience it firsthand. Since 2003, the project has taken eight trips to the Arctic and one to the Peruvian Andes.
In July 2011, the Cape Farewell Project is planning to take a trip to Scotland’s Islands of the Faroes.
