Decomposition happens when a body dies. This is where a compound reduces to its most basic elements and compounds. The same can be said of bones, but it is a much slower process for bone decomposition than it is for the rest of the body. Under the right circumstances (mainly extreme heat), bones will decompose into its mineral components (mostly carbon, among other things).
Bones are not mostly carbon. They are mostly calcium phosphate.
