If you are referring to the taxonomic classification, true bacteria are in the kingdom Monera. There are five kingdoms which include Animalia, Plantae, Fungi, Protista, and Monera. The first three are pretty self explanatory, the third, Protista, has a variety of fairly primitive organisms that can’t be classified under any of the other kingdoms, while Monera includes single cell organisms such as bacteria and blue-green algae.
