Biotic factors are is when the action of one organism affects another (like a predator catching its prey). Soil is an abiotic factor meaning it cannot directly affect the life of another living organism. But it can influence how the organisms affect each other. If the soil fertility is not good, plants cannot grow and if plants cannot grow and an organism depends on plants for its diet then it will die, have to find something else to eat (maybe another living organism) or move. This won’t necessarily affect biotic factors since the first organism might not interfere with another living organism, it does affect one of the organisms and in the long run that might interfere with biotic factors.
