Ocean thermal energy conversion is a way to generate electricity by using the heat naturally produced in deep waters. OTEC uses the difference in energy between warm water and cool water to power a generator. This generator then produces electricity. OTEC is used widely in the US military and has been used to improve upon air conditioning technology and aquaculture technology.
