What do we do with old decommissioned ships?

Some old ships are purposely sunk to create artificial reefs.  Once all harmful chemicals and materials are removed from old ships, they can provide a very stable and healthy area for marine animals, much like a natural coral reef.

Some old ships are broken up into reusable, recyclable, or sellable parts.  Other decommissioned ships can be found in Ship Graveyards, where they are left to decay or until the parts or ship will be used.  Ship Graveyards are less common now due to environmental regulation, however many still exist around the world.
