Walruses most enjoy clams, though their diet primarily consists of other bivalve mollusks, such as oysters and mussels. They also eat worms, sea cucumbers and crustaceans. When faced with food shortages, walruses also have been known to eat small seals.
They prefer to eat mollusks, such as clams. They will also eat invertebrates like worms and sea cucumbers. Occasionally they will eat fish like polar cod. When food is scarce, they might eat carcasses of young seals.
