Spiders mostly eat insects. Thats why many people say that spiders are a close friend of humans. They eat more insects then birds do. Spiders can also eat other spiders. The fishing spiders eats baby fish. Tarantulas can even eat mice and birds.
Spiders in general eat insects or other spiders. Their elaborates webs are used to trap flying insects that can’t see the thin fibers and fly into it by mistake. The web is sticky so the insect is stuck and the spider then can climb over to it wrap it in webbing and slowly drain the juices out of it. Of course there are other types of spiders, some that hunt and some that burrow, there is even a fishing spider that eats baby fish.
