Sea urchins usually eat algae or seaweed, usually off of hard surfaces. There are times where they eat parts of plants and even small animals. Sea urchins have five teeth in the middle of their backside, which are used to tear algae from rocks for consumption. These teeth continuously grow throughout the sea urchin’s life.
