Seahorses prefer to feed on small crustaceans floating in the water or crawling on the bottom. Well camouflaged, they wait patiently and ambush prey that float within striking distance. Seahorses like to eat mysid shrimp and other small crustaceans and some have been known to eat other kinds of invertebrates and larval fish as well. They also are known to eat brine shrimp as well.
