What do recycling plants do with their waste?

In many cases, recycling plants encounter recyclables which they cannot accomodate for either because of space or the simple fact that they do not specialize in certain recyclable materials. When this happens, the materials may be packaged and shipped to plants which do specialize in those items. However, some facilities may not always shipout unprocessable materials if they do not see any profit. In this case, the materials most often end up in a landfill or are shipped to be dumped in another region of the world and will never enter the recycling process.
