what do pentals in plants do?

I can’t find anything plant related called a “pental;” but I think maybe you mean “petals”
as in the colorful parts of flowers surrounding the anthers where the pollen is released.
The petals serve to attract insects or birds with their bright colors and scents (if any) so that
    the plant will get pollinated.
