What do old science books teach kids about protecting the environment?

It depends on how old the book is. But many science books that I have seen in my day (graduated from UD in 2008) had coverage of topics such as “The Deforestation of the Rainforest,” “The Greenhouse Effect and Greenhouse Gases”, “Sustainable Energy” and “Sustainable Farming Practices”—amongst many others. The knowledge is out there, and it is beginning to spread. Once people become informed, then next step is to say how serious? and since the answer is “very serious” we are going to see a lot more environmentally conscious people who wish to make a positive change for the future of our planet!
