What do nuclear tests do to the environment?

There seem to be several effects of nuclear testing on the environment.  One of which is the possibility of nuclear fallout in the surrounding areas which can cause health problems for humans, animals and affect plant growth.

Underground testing has been known to cause landslides and tsunamis and has the possibility to generate an earthquake.  There is also some risk that the radiation can leak or vent and make its way to surrounding bodies of water and mess up the local ecosystem.
