Moths are generally a nocturnal species, which means they are active at night, and sleep during the day. Moths tend to find places to hide during the daytime where they will not be discovered by predators or disturbed. They can be found in higher tree branches, caves, or similar dark areas–some species have developed camouflage or markings to intimidate predetors, such as the Polyphemus Moth or the Leaf Moth.
