What do farmers do to cut down on water?

Quire simply, farmers have to use less water, which means less growing and less overall production. California has implemented a mandatory 30% decrease in water use by farmers, which is seriously harming the state’s agriculture. California’s Farm Bureau has created a monitoring program that would allow farmers to join forces and share in the cost of compliance. With this option, farmers would pay an entry fee of anywhere from $100 to $1,000, depending on acreage, and an annual fee to be determined at a later date, depending on how many people join the program.
