what do animals do when their area goes through a drought?

Animals tend to migrate when their preferred habitat goes through a drought, if they are not able to adapt and survive there.  Some animals, such as snakes, are able to hibernate during unfavorable weather and land conditions.  Some animals are used to migrating and do so annually when the weather gets too hot and food gets scarce.  They may return to the same area the following year in a different season.
