Canola oil is a type of vegetable oil that is lower in saturated fat content and higher in mono unsaturated fat and is considered healthier than regular vegetable oil. Canola oil is made with rapeseed while vegetable oil can include a blend of vegetables oils such as corn, soybean and palm.
Canola oil is a specific kind of vegetable oil. Canola oil is made from on of two varieties of rapeseed. The name comes from “CANadian Oil Low in Acid” referring to it’s low levels of erucic acid. Furthermore due to its low content of saturated fat, as well as the omega-3s and monounsaturated fat it contains, it’s considered one of the healthiest of the vegetable oils, after olive oil.
