What is the difference between a terrarium and an aquarium?

Both terrariums and aquariums are glass or plastic recreations of the natural world. The major difference between a terrarium and aquarium is the water level. An aquarium is filled entirely with water containing fish or other aquatic life, whereas, a terrarium may contain some water. Terrariums normally have rocks, soil, and plants that serve as habitats for terrestrial life like snakes, lizards, and frogs.
