What is the difference between single-cell thunderstorms and super-cell thunderstorms?

A single cell thunderstorm has one main updraft – they are typical summer thunderstorms, or also may occur after a cold front passes through in the winter. A supercell thunderstorm is large with separate updrafts and downdrafts and windspeeds that vary with height. They can reach the stratosphere and be up to 15 miles wide.
