The term resource management has more of a business slant while “resource conservation” has more of an environmental slant. Resource management emphasizes utilizing an organization’s personnel and whatever materials are available in the most efficient way possible. The focus is on maximizing the potential of the resources which can include just about anything including people. (Think of a Human Resources department and everything they do within a company.) Resource conservation also refers to managing materials to optimize their potential while minimizing waste, but it refers specifically to natural resources.
