    There is no difference compositionally.  Black ice is a term for a thin layer of ice that is densely packed on a flat concrete surface – namely, a road – such that it’s not seen.

    Black ice refers to ice on a road that you cannot see at night. It is very dangerous because you are not expecting it and then the car looses traction and starts sliding. Black ice is just ice in a certain situation so there is no “difference”.
