What is the difference between a kangaroo and a wallaby?

A wallaby is a general term that describes more than 30 species of macropods (large kangaroo-like mammals) that don’t have another (commonly known) name. So, while Kangaroos would fit into the broad category, but are not Wallabys simply because they have their own name. Generally speaking, Wallaby = Monkey as Kangaroo = Gorilla

Notably, the term Joey is used to describe both young Kangaroos and young Wallabys
