Bays are estuaries, surrounded by land that are usually calmer than the open oceans. They can be tiny or vast and are found throughout the world’s coastlines. Cays refer to islands, formed when sand accumulates atop coral reefs. They are found around the globr, but only where the conditions exist for coral reefs.
