    Van Jones wrote the New York Times bestselling book “The Green Collar Economy,” which is about green jobs. He is an attorney and as such was an integral part of the Green Jobs Act signed into the 2007 Energy Bill. He has also started several non-profits like Green For All and the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights.

    He is known worldwide as an activist for human rights and clean energy economies.

    While a member of the Obama administration, Jones served as special advisor for green jobs enterprise and innovation. During his not too distant past he was also a member of groups with socialist leanings and ideologies that were very critical of the role of the Bush administrations role in the September 11 attacks.
