What did Stephen Colbert testify about in Congress?

I previously answered this question on GreenAnswers a few weeks ago, and this is what I posted:

Stephen Colbert recently appeared before Congress in character to give a speech on his experience as a fictitious migrant worker.  The hearing was for the AgJobs bill, which would help illegal workers obtain a green card.  Colbert claimed that he was there to “speak up for the people that have no voice.”  While his intentions may have been positive, the outcome wasn’t such.  Congress members were offended by the comedian’s jokes made about such a serious matter.  His sarcasm made it seem like he wasn’t taking the matter seriously.  Colbert’s speech can be seen on the YouTube link below.
