The 7.2 quake didn’t do quite as much damage as the one that struck Haiti, but it did leave some traces nonetheless. As of April 5th, only three people were killed by crumbling walls but hundreds injured especially residents in the town of MexiCali where a parking structure collapsed and a hospital was evacuated. The town of Calexico is also still recovering and has 80% of its downtown buildings red flagged with no entry allowed. Power lines and sewers are all in the process of being repaired throughout the affected regions in baja.
The effects from the quake were felt as far as Phoenix, AZ. Closer to the epicenter, and in cities around the California-Mexico border, building walls were cracked. No damage was reported in Arizona, just swaying waters and some movement reported.
