Developing countries aren’t harming the environment nearly as much as industrialized nations. Since 1950, the US has emitted around 50.7 billion tons of carbon. China and India, who have respectively around 4.6 times as many people and 3.5 times as many people, have respectively emitted 15.7 and 4.2 billion tons of carbon. Industrialized countries account for 80% of all carbon emitted.
Third world nations can not be held as responsible for carbon emissions as developed countries because all third world nations are economically dependant on developed countries. Once developing nations have become industrialized, they will be more stable economically and be able to start the green movement.
