What is the “Descent Home Standard’?

The Decent Home Standard is something in the UK that determines if a house is good enough to live in and be seen. The standard is in the hands of a specific council, and they determine if a house meets these standards. The basic standard is that “a home should be warm, weatherproof and have reasonably modern facilities.” This is to help areas improve their housing, especially if children are in the neighborhood.
