What is the deepest we dig for geothermal power plants?

    The deepest research well for geothermal power is the Kola Superdeep Borehole, about 7 miles or 12 kilometers deep. However we rarely go more than 2 miles (3 kilometers) in. But the Kola superdeep is being imitated by Exxon’s Z-12 well.
