What is the deepest anyone has to drill for water?

    Wells must be drilled deep enough to hit the water table and exactly how deep that is changes depending where you are on earth. There are different distinctions of wells depending on how deep they are. A shallow well is no more than 50 ft, a deep or artisan well is general somewhere between 100 and 200 ft below the surface. There are some wells that go more that 1000 ft deep into the earth and Montana boasts the deepest well in the world, which is 7320 ft deep.
