DC charging for electric cars is pretty much what it sounds like, a method of charging car batteries that utilizes direct current (DC) as opposed to the common household alternating current (AC). The advantage of DC charging is that while it may be more taxing on power grids because of the greater amount of electricity required, it allows electric cars to charge much faster, generally within 20-30 minutes.
