The lack of access to potable drinking water is a problem that afflicts about 1/5th of the world’s population, and, with so many areas lacking access to drinking water, it’s hard to pick out one specific country as standing out from the others as “the worst.” Egypt, the Sudan, Saudi Arabia, China, India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh all have severe water shortages.
