The US is the fastest growing market for wind power, followed by the EU. he United States is currently the world leader with 29,440 MW of installed capacity. Following behind are Germany (23,903 MW), Spain (16,754 MW), China (12,210 MW), and India (9,645 MW).
It probably depends on whether you’re looking for the actual increase in number or a percentage increase. In 2010, China accounted for 16.5 GW of new wind power, making up nearly half of the new installation of wind power around the world. The U.S. and China have been in the lead recently for adding wind power capacity. My guess is that Japan will be looking at wind power as well in the aftermath of the tsunami damage to the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant.
