In terms of production, the yearly trends show that China has been producing the most corn after the United States since at least 2002. During the fiscal year 2009, the United States produced 307.4 million metric tons of corn (or 12.1 billion bushels). By comparison, China produced just a little more than half of that with 165.9 million metric tons (or 6.5 billion bushels).
