Per capita, Scandinavian countries (Luxembourg, Sweden, etc) have the highest average incomes. However, not speaking per-capita, you are right in assuming that the United States has the highest average income. The UK is second to the United States, followed by the Netherlands and Spain.
I came across different statistics. In this Switzerland has the highest median household income, with $99,482 (2007 data), the US is second with $50,233, followed by Canada, New Zealand, The UK.
On a side note, Luxembourg isn’t a Scandinavian country, it’s considered part of the Benelux countries of Belgium, The Netherlands and Luxembourg.
