China’s high-speed rail system has already begun construction on parts of the line that will run through Myanmar (Burma), Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Laos and Malaysia; another route is proposed to run through Central Asian countries like Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan all the way to Germany and Great Britain, and yet another portion of this proposed network will run through Russia to connect China to other Eastern and Southern European countries.
