What countries other than the U.S. (and the U.S., again) have gone to war over oil?

There have been many wars and conflicts fought over the years for resources, including oil. Other than the US, many countries including the UK, France, Russia, China, and Israel have all been involved in these wars. Many conflicts during the early twentieth century including the two Great Wars war fought with oil in mind. This valuable resource is needed for the production of nearly every piece of war equipment, and Africa and the Middle-East were targets of heavy importance prior to 1945. Western control of Africa and Asia Minor led to many bloody conflicts between both civilized nations and the oppressed people until European colonial states began to win their independence. Despite this, the fact remains that oil is a resource, a damn valuable resource to boot and people will continue to fight over it as long as people are willing to pay top dollar for it.
