In China, all three of the rivers that supply water to the Northern Plain are heavily polluted. The high population of China causes a very high demand for clean water, not only so people can drink, but so that the crops that support those people can grow.
In Eastern India and Bangladesh, the Ganges river is said to hold dangerously high levels of Arsenic. The glaciers that supply the river are said to be melting as well, causing fears of future droughts.
In West Africa, many people must walk for hours every day just to get water. In Nigeria, this is the case for half of the population.
