Sweden has had a rabbit overpopulation problem in Stockholm. In the fall of 2009, they began hunting the rabbits and using their carcasses for heating fuel in a highly controversial move to curb the problem.

In Scotland, there is an island that has recently seen rabbit overpopulation following a successful campaign to rid the island of rats. The rats eradicated because they were wiping out sea birds and the rare Canna mouse. Now the rabbits are burrowing into architectural monuments.
