Africa and South America are frequently cited as the most biodiverse continents due to their sheer size and variation of natural landscape. While this varies from analysis to analysis and from year to year as species are declared extinct and are discovered, South Africa is generally considered the more biodiverse of the two in regards to both plant and animal life because the continent promotes more habitability and range of liveable ecosystems.
