While most might think the coldest place is far out somewhere on Pluto, but it is actually much closer. Recent research from our own Moon has discovered that it may be home to the coldest known place in our Solar System. According to NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, craters near the South Pole of the moon are so cold because they have never seen the sun. These craters do nothing but spin, neglected by the sun’s rays and reaching temperatures as low as 397 degrees below zero!
