CNG stands for compressed natural gas or more simply natural gas. CNG is a fossil fuel that can be used as a substitute for more common petrol fuels such as gasoline, diesel, propane. CNG is also more environmentally friendly than either of these three alternatives.

CNG is made by taking natural gas and compressing it and storing it in metal containers at 2,900-3,600 psi
