The climate of the region varies throughout the year. In the summer it’s not too hot. In the winter it’s not too cold. The climate in the Appalachian region can be described as cool and wet for most of the year.
Due to the extensive distance that the Appalachians occupy, the climate can be quite varied. In the Northern Canadian portions, Arctic conditions exist. Heavy snow fall is noted in the Newfoundland (eastern Canadaian Province) region of the range, whereas in lower elevation regions, such as Georgia and Alabama, it is very dry and mild.
