Well there you go, you had to put that word “civilization” in there. That makes it harder. I’m wondering if I can dig through history to answer, or if I should stick to contemporary civilizations…
It’s hard to think of civilization and sustainability in one thought…
I pick Germany,
…or maybe Norway, or Sweden.
I think natives in North America, for example, were very sustainable. They farmed the land, and worshipped the animals they hunted and killed. These animals were used not only for food, but for shelter and clothing. They did not pollute, consume, or abuse the environment and were able to live off it, in harmony.
