If you want to look at the overall value including what you’re going to save by using the solar panels, I don’t think the city matters, unless you want to consider that some cities get more sunlight than other. I assume that putting solar panels on a rooftop in Phoenix is going to generate more energy year-round than if you put solar panels on a rooftop in Anchorage, Alaska. As far as the price of the solar panels go, it depends on how much you want to power. The more energy you want to consume, the more expensive a system you’ll need. The cheaper end of solar panels is $700, but this only runs the lights, TV, VCR, and stereo system. You can check out the details (with photos) at the site below.
