I think it’s safe to assume that Amesterdam, Netherlands has the largest bike lanes in the world due to the fact that they have the highest population of biking commuters. The population is 750,000, with 40% riding bikes. Next in line is Portland, Oregon followed by Copenhagen, Denmark.
According to Bicycling.com the number one bike friendly city in America is Minneapolis, MN. They compiled a list based on various criteria and came up with the top 50 cities in America for bicycling. It based its findings on bike shops, on and off street trails, and in general a bike friendly environment.
