Any city close to the equator gets more hours of sunlight than any other. Higher latitudes, towards the poles, will have less hours of daylight than other parts of the world due to the curvature of the Earth. The most extreme latitudes, north of the Arctic Circle and south of the Antarctic Circle, will have some days in summer where the sun never sets and many days in winter where there is no visible sun at all.
