What cities have the largest bike sharing programs?

    Paris, France has the largest bike sharing program, called Velib’ (from velo (bicycle) + liberte (freedom)).  Launched in 2007, it is now composed of 20,000 bikes and 1450 stations throughout Paris and environs. 

    Montreal, Canada is home to North America’s largest program, called Bixi, launched in fall of 2008, with 5000 bikes at 400 stations.
